Worth the Effort

I don't know if there has been a hotter summer but the kids sure don't seem to notice. They could be out in it all day. Our summer so far has been full of ball, ball, and ball. This is the last weekend of ball for  a while as Jacks in playing in Regionals til Tuesday. Then we start packing and prepping for the beach. I started thinking about when we get back it will be time to start getting school supplies, uniforms, etc and wait a minute....where did our summer go again?~!~

 

Regardless of how slow or fast some of summer days seem to be one thing is for sure it is much more fun with friends. For the kids and of course for Mommy too.

The girls are such girly girls and love to play with other little girls. I hear things about AG, LK, CA, and EG often and so its always a treat to meet for the day and play away. Looking forward to all those late summer sells so I can stock up for next summer. Last August I got these cute dresses for the girls for only 5.00 and they fit perfect. I always think o wow there is no way Brooklyn can wear this next year bec I remember how huge the 3t looked when I held it up to her last summer but she came threw and grew right on track of course. One year makes such a difference when they are this little. It still is hard to believe I already have a 3,5, and almost 7 yr old. It truly seems like yesterday they were 3,1 and newborn. Trying to enjoy the moments and not get caught up in the past or the future is tough but worth the effort.

Some of my favorite outfits on the girls are homemade. I have found some amazing talent on facebook like this talented mom who makes the cutest custom clothes. This is a just a t-shirt and it turned out so cute.

As the official 1st day of summer is finally here I have been reminded the past few weeks why this season ties with fall for my favorite times of year.....

Sweet Tea just tastes better. Really Like McDonalds tea right now and for only 1.00 I don't have shopper's remorse like I do when savoring a frap at Starbucks which is over 5.00. What would I pick if given a choice...well depends on who's buying and how much sleep I got the night before!

That lightening bugs take me back to childhood in a matter of seconds. Taught Jacks the other night the art of catching them. I noticed every time either he or I saw one, we smiled. Not too many bugs I could smile about for sure. Okay maybe Lady bugs but they are cute and plus I can hear my papaws lady bug song still to the day when we would see them when I was growing up.

Water skiing on the lake when the water is as smooth as a baby's u know what. My fav is Greers Ferry but grew up on that lake so hard for me to appreciate the others in Ar in the same way. I would love to swing from rope off  a tree into the lake like me and my Dad use to do. Another fav past time that makes me smile.

What about for the boys?

 And for my son..well he has his own little style already at six. Very strong willed and such an individual which I love. He loves designer style denim, knuckle heads..has such fun hats that are so him, and vintage style tshirts. He also likes things that say who he is..like loud, different, fun, so I got him a knuckle head jumpsuit to wear in fall. I bought it online and was nervous about what his reaction would be but I so got the glee and squeal. He wants to wear it now even though we are in AR and almost 100 degrees. At least that is one thing I will have to look forward to the fall. Seeing him in that cute knuckle head jumpsuit with that little smirk and his Daddy just shaking his head at the fact I bought it and then that his son actually LOVES it. Yes he is such a  traditional type of man.he doesn't like to stand out but likes nice things on..he usually is in a suit and tie so I've had to liven it up with fun patterns and colors. He is an Auditor so since he is a CPA not too many folks in his profession jump out of the norm. I was proud though because he has tried a few things out of his comfort zone. I felt very accomplished to get him in purple and in  pink. He is coming around..it's only taken 15 years!
